Pre-College Drawing: Portfolio Preparation
with Athena Scott

“Drawing is not what one sees but what one can make others see.”~ Edward Degas
During this class students will learn the fundamental principles of drawing and build their observational skills. Students will become familiar with drawing materials and techniques while working from still-life, historic casts and landscapes. Through these genres, students will learn about proportions, perspective, light & shadow, line, tone, and composition. Drawing I will be an opportunity to strengthen essential skills and create outstanding portfolio pieces.
Pre-College programs will be in-person to safely support young artists. All participants are required to be vaccinated and boosted (if eligible). We're excited to be a space of creative expression for teens!
