Pre-College: Drawing I, DR710ED
with Roger Chavez
$440
Come develop your observational skills, strengthen your drawing ability, and build your college portfolio. The focus in this course will be in drawing extensively from observation using visual tools as we work from the still-life, landscape, and the portrait as subjects. We will become familiar with and explore historical and contemporary drawing materials and techniques, learning their characteristics and limitations. We will also explore works from historical and contemporary artists to begin a learning dialogue with their works to form a greater understanding of them as well as the two-dimensional visual language.
$15 model fee included in cost of course
Materials list will be posted here by May, and will be emailed to registered students in advance of class.
Pre-College programs will be in-person to safely support young artists. All participants are required to be vaccinated and boosted, or get a medical or religious exemption. We're excited to be a space of creative expression for teens!
Scholarships are available with application. Please apply for scholarship and get decision BEFORE registering. Scholarship policies here: https://www.pafa.org/school/academics/pre-college/policies
