Continuing Education at PAFA

Explore the exciting and challenging practice of landscape painting! Come study the Thaw Collection using high resolution images and make use of the timeless practice of learning from paintings. Using Canvas as an online platform to provide assignments, regular instructor feedback and lectures via Zoom, students will be able to concentrate, study and copy the landscape paintings in the collection to develop tactics for depicting foliage, trees, mountains, atmosphere, clouds and bring the awareness of the historical and revolutionary importance of these landscape paintings and their authors. Students then take their skills outdoors to paint the nearby landscape in the open air!

Students have the option of taking this class for 1.0 college credit or no credit. The only difference in experience is that "for-credit" students will receive a grade for their work.
