Join James Toogood AWS/NWS/AAA, PAFA CE faculty, renowned watercolorist, and author of Incredible Light and Texture in Watercolor for a discussion of what is needed to paint truly great and successful watercolors. Referencing his own award-winning watercolor landscapes, cityscapes and portraits, James will present a thorough explanation of watercolor materials and techniques via Zoom. Topics will include the proper selection and preparation of your paper, brushes, color palettes as well as a thorough discussion of paint and pigment. James will take you through the development of a painting, from drawing and composition to opening washes to a completed piece. He will talk about how to develop a sense of light and atmosphere, and how to achieve a range of textural effects from glass, metal, stone, grass and water and more!
